Hasan Rahman


Hasan co-leads the International Projects, Energy and Infrastructure team. He is an English-qualified non-contentious construction and engineering lawyer with experience advising on a broad range of projects throughout the Middle East and beyond, and across a wide range of industries and sectors including power, renewables, water, petrochemicals, industrial, transport, social infrastructure and real estate development.

Hasan advises government entities, project owners, sponsors, developers, contractors, funders, operators and end-users on procurement strategies and contract structuring, and on the drafting, negotiation, administration and interpretation of design, engineering, procurement, construction and EPC contracts, facilities management (FM) and operation and maintenance (O&M) contracts, ancillary documentation (including consultancy, PMC, FEED agreements, LTSA / warranty agreements and security documentation) and related project agreements including development agreements, concession agreements, energy efficiency / ESCO agreements and supply agreements, across the entire project life cycle. He advises on all methods of procurement (including traditional / construct only, design and build, EPC, EPCM, alliancing, construction management, and PPPs) and has extensive experience in drafting and negotiating bespoke contracts as well as industry standard forms including the full suite of FIDIC contracts.

Hasan has worked on projects in all of the GCC member states and has particular experience of major projects in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. He supports local and regional clients as well as global and multinational organisations with interests in GCC and has significant experience in advising on the legal interplay between common law approaches to projects and the regional civil law system.

Hasan graduated from Oxford University and has previously worked at leading international firms in London and Abu Dhabi.
