How can we help you?

In the final instalment of our sustainable procurement webinar series we will once again be considering how to put sustainable procurement into practice. Having considered the legal framework governing the 'plan', 'procure' and 'manage' phases of a procurement in previous sessions, we will bring together everything we have discussed this year to show how a procurement can be run with a sustainable procurement mindset. You won't want to miss it!

Sustainable procurement should be a mindset manifested throughout the entire life cycle of a contract and the environmental and social impacts of the purchasing activity should be considered at every stage.

In our previous webinars we looked at the Procurement Act 2023 and wider regulatory regimes to consider what an organisation needs to do and consider to drive sustainable procurement. By way of reminder:

  1. In the 'plan' phase we considered sustainability policies, a change in valuing requirements and how to approach formulating specifications.
  2. In the 'procure' phase we considered the benefits of different procurement routes and the role of award criteria and conditions of participation to drive sustainable outcomes.
  3. In the 'manage' phase we considered how KPIs and good contract management mechanisms in contracts can ensure sustainable outcomes are practically delivered under contracts.

In this final session we will showcase how all of these points can be brought together with great effect for organisations, through practical tips and a case study.

The webinar will focus on:

  • How to put sustainable procurement into practice through application to a case study.
  • Practical steps organisations can focus on to adopt sustainable procurement practices regardless of the maturity of their procurement teams.

This webinar is for commercial and procurement professionals across the public sector and aims to facilitate the sharing of best practice. The session will be delivered by Trowers & Hamlins colleagues in the Public Procurement and Energy and Sustainability teams.
