How can we help you?

Our next Trowers Tuesdays session is on Tuesday 2 March at 11:30 am and we'll be taking questions about employment status.

The Supreme Court recently decided that the drivers pursuing a case against Uber were workers and not self-employed contractors. This is a key decision for the gig economy but has wider implications. The Court made clear that the focus in determining worker status is on the true nature of the actual relationship, and the written contract isn't the starting point.

Over the last few years we have seen various cases where individuals contracted to work on a self-employed basis have argued they are workers or employees. Given this, and the need to consider employment status for tax purposes as part of IR35 assessments, it is worth reminding yourself about the types of employment status and what rights and benefits, including pensions, that they confer.

Imogen Reseigh, Eleanor Clot and Rebecca McKay will available to answer your questions. There is an option to submit questions on the registration page. Please note, the register button will take you to an external Zoom page.

This session will be recorded and made available after the webinar. To see the full details of how the data is managed, please see our fair processing notice.
