How can we help you?

International law firm Trowers & Hamlins has expanded its corporate team in Malaysia with the addition of new partner Geoff Allen.

Geoff is an experienced corporate lawyer having spent 17 years working across private practice and in-house roles.  His expertise includes acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures, investments, corporate restructuring, governance and general corporate advisory. He spent 8 years with Eversheds Sutherland both in the UK  and with Eversheds Sutherland's associated office in Riyadh before moving in-house, initially as a Legal Director before taking up a GC and Company Secretary role. Geoff's most recent position was in the UK, carrying out an interim role with Centrica plc in London.

Geoff's appointment is in line with the firm's drive to expand its corporate team not only geographically, but also in the markets in which it operates by adding to its expertise and profile.

Bill Jefferies, head of the international corporate team, commented:

"We are very pleased to welcome Geoff to the partnership and to our growing international corporate team. Geoff's extensive experience enhances our existing international corporate offering and will put us in an even better position to service our Malaysian and cross-border clients and meet the needs of the market. Expanding across our international locations means that we can be closer to clients on the ground and be even more responsive to their requirements."

Geoff added:

"I'm excited to be joining the partnership and the corporate team in Malaysia where I look forward to helping drive future growth in the region."

Geoff joins Trowers as the firm moves to a larger office space at Menara Maxis and celebrates 10 years since opening in Malaysia and going on to become the first firm to obtain a Qualified Foreign Law Firm (QFLF) licence in 2015.
