Rachel Storey


Rachel is an Associate in Trowers & Hamlins' Dispute Resolution and Litigation team specialising in commercial litigation. 

Rachel has experience acting for both businesses and private individuals in litigious and advisory matters including contractual and shareholder disputes, professional negligence and disputes emanating from private wealth, trust and estates. She has particular experience in assisting on fraud and dishonestly claims.

Recent experience includes:

  • Supporting in an ongoing £45 million group fraud action in the Commercial Court, with trial listed for 8 weeks in 2024;
  • Assisting on a claim brought against HMRC for misfeasance in public office, malicious prosecution and malicious procurement of a search warrant. Damages sought exceed £25-30 million;
  • Acting in complex litigation on behalf of the claimants in a Double Derivative action and Unfair Prejudice Petition in the High Court, including issuing an application for indemnity costs and an application for third party disclosure;
  • Assisting in a novel contested probate matter on behalf of the executors and beneficiaries of a deceased's estate (the defendants) concerning the disposition of the English estate (c.£3 million) of the deceased under the doctrine of deathbed gifts (or donations mortis causa) as alleged by the claimant.
