Lara Marsden
Lara is a senior associate in the banking and finance team.
Her practice covers all areas of real estate finance, acting for both lenders and borrowers on bilateral and syndicated loans.
Lara has experience with a broad range of sectors, including mixed use developments, logistics, retail, hotels and student accommodation. She acts for borrowers investing through REITs and onshore and offshore groups and limited partnerships. She has experience advising borrowers on financing from private equity funds and Islamic finance agreements.
Lara went on secondment to a private bank for 5 months as legal counsel, where she advised all areas of the bank of a number of legal issues, including in relation to commercial banking REF loans and commercial contracts.
In the housing finance sector, Lara advises both lenders and borrowers, including Registered Providers and local authorities providing and developing affordable housing. Her practice includes traditional social housing loans and private placements, as well as acting for For-Profit Registered Providers on investment and development financing. She has experience advising on a number of social and sustainable loans. She also advises Registered Providers and lenders in the housing sector on refinancing of debt following mergers, transfers of engagements and other amalgamations and group restructurings.
