She qualified as a solicitor in 2019, having previously undertaken research for the charity sector considering the human right to adequate housing as well as volunteering roles with homelessness and housing charities. As a result of this experience, Jess' interest has been shaped with a desire to help facilitate quality homes and build communities. Jess acts for national and regional registered providers of social housing, charities, developers and investment funds. Her work includes advising on a wide range of matters including site acquisitions, development, disposals and financing. Recent examples of work include: - Acting for a charity on the acquisition of a portfolio of properties for the provision of temporary accommodation for young people at risk of homelessness. - Assisting with the redevelopment of a large affordable housing site in London for nearly 1,000 new homes. - Advising an investment fund on the acquisition of specialist supported living accommodation and subsequent leases to registered providers.
