Debo is a seasoned finance and restructuring lawyer with extensive experience across both international and Indian domestic markets, having worked in the GCC, Singapore, London, Tokyo and India.
He established the firm’s India Desk and has led it since inception. With deep insight into the Indian market, including its business practices and regulatory environment, Debo advises clients on the successful execution of India-focused inbound and outbound transactions.
Debo acts for banks, financial institutions, agents, real estate investment trusts, sponsors, funds and multinational corporations across the GCC, South Asia and ASEAN. He has played a key role in structuring and leading several significant and 'first-of-its-kind' transactions in these markets. His practice spans a broad range of industries and asset classes, with particular focus on corporate finance, real estate finance, project and infrastructure finance, acquisition finance, trade finance, Islamic finance, debt capital markets and structured finance, as well as debt restructuring and regulatory matters.
In addition, Debo regularly advises on credit agreement compliance, amendments, waivers and consents, legal risk management (including sanctions) and ongoing regulatory compliance. He represents both lenders/investors and borrowers/issuers, providing a well-rounded perspective on financing and restructuring transactions. He is increasingly recognised for his expertise in ESG and green financing in the GCC, advising clients on transactions, early-stage policy development and regulatory compliance.
