International law firm Trowers & Hamlins advised the board of Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce in relation to the restructuring and rescue of GMCC's business. Following several months' work in close cooperation with the directors, Lindsey Cooper and Ed Connell of Armstrong Watson were appointed as administrators of GMCC on 17 September 2025, at which time its business and assets were purchased.

This was a complex restructuring of a historic and important institution within the Manchester business community.  Advice was provided to GMCC's board from professionals across Trowers' restructuring, employment, pensions, banking and property teams, working with the directors to identify and implement the best option for GMCC's stakeholders.
