Trowers advises Smith's (Gloucester) on purchase of the entire issued share capital of Ermin Plant

Top 40 law firm Trowers & Hamlins has advised Smith's (Gloucester) Limited on the purchase of the entire issued share capital of Ermin Plant (Hire & Services) Limited, a family-run plant and equipment hire business which has been operating since 1966.

Smith's (Gloucester) Limited, which celebrates 40 years of trading this year, is one of the largest construction and waste management companies in the South West, offering a complete service to the construction industry, from construction to demolition, via skip hire and asbestos removal.

The deal completed with accountancy advice from Griffiths Marshall advisory group.

Rebecca Pullin, Company Secretary of Smith's (Gloucester) Limited and newly appointed Director of Ermin Plant (Hire & Services) Limited commented:

“We are really excited about this acquisition and the opportunities that it will present. The compliments that it will offer to our existing business practices is what attracted us to the acquisition in the first instance but it is also evident that the Ermin business model is one that has been successfully servicing the trade in the South West for over 56 years.”

Corporate Partner, Lynne Rathbone, led the Trowers team, comprising lawyers from multiple specialisms including Employment, Real Estate, Commercial and Tax Departments. Lynne commented:

"Smith's (Gloucester) Limited is a fantastic example of a successful family-led South West business that continues to go from strength to strength through the expertise and dedication of its staff and management team. It was a pleasure to work with Rebecca on the acquisition of Ermin, which I am sure will perfectly complement their existing business offering. We wish the team continued success going forward."
