How can we help you?

The next instalment of our sustainable procurement webinar series is here, where we once again considered putting sustainable procurement into practice. Following on from our discussions of the planning and procuring phase, we looked at the manage phase – putting the Procurement Act 2023 through its paces by considering how effective contract monitoring, the setting of impactful KPIs, and the use of modifications to drive further improvements can better deliver an organisation's social and environmental priorities.

Sustainable procurement is a mindset focused on the entire life cycle of a contract and the environmental and social impacts of purchasing activity.

In our previous webinar we considered how to set up your procurement to test bidders on their sustainability offerings and push key initiatives through your requirements. In this session we will look at how the processes in the Procurement Act 2023 and associated contract management guidance can be used to achieve the right outcomes for organisations, reflecting on examples across the public sector and touching on precedent drafting.

The webinar covered in particular:

  • How to set up KPIs on sustainability and to achieve effective monitoring.
  • How to build sustainability measures and targets into contracts to achieve real-term impact.
  • How to hold suppliers to account during the course of their contract.
  • How to effectively and lawfully modify public contracts to incorporate sustainability improvements or priority changes.
