Employment tribunal quarterly statistics published


The Ministry of Justice's (MOJ's) statistics for January to March 2019 show that employment tribunal claims are continuing to increase.

Compared to the same period last year, single claims are up by 6%, disposals up by 22%, and outstanding claims up by 39%. The average disposal took 33 weeks, which is up from 27 weeks last year. The MOJ target is for 75% of cases to be disposed of within 26 weeks.

Up to 31 March 2019 a total of 21,700 ET fee refunds have been made. The total refunded since the Unison decision now stands at £17.3m.
