Nicola Ihnatowicz


Nicola is a partner in the Employment department, and specialises in all aspects of human resources and employment law and acts for a range of public, private and third sector employers and senior employees.

In particular, Nicola has experience advising on TUPE, large scale restructures, changes to terms and conditions and equal pay. Nicola also deals with difficult employee relations matters including discrimination, redundancies, disability and absence management, stress at work and termination negotiations. Nicola regularly advises and represents clients on Employment Tribunal matters and has recently dealt with complex claims for discrimination and harassment, whistleblowing and breach of TUPE. Nicola has particular experience of advising public sector clients on sector specific issues such as public-private partnerships; the Statement of Practice; and "TUPE-plus", and RPs on issues such as compliance with Codes of Governance in respect of termination payments and paying Board members. Nicola is also acknowledged as a contributor to the NHF guidance on paying Board members and has recently contributed to a LexisNexis practice note on TUPE PFIs and PPPs.

Nicola regularly provides tailored training and "bite-sized briefings" for her clients' managers and HR professionals to assist them in dealing with all the intricacies of employment law.

Nicola is recognised for her expertise in Employment by The Legal 500 2015.
