Ben Neville


Ben is a Managing Associate in the banking and finance team and is based in our Exeter office.

Ben specialises in a wide range of banking matters, with a particular emphasis on real estate backed lending and corporate lending transactions.

He regularly acts for a broad spectrum of clients from financial institutions and non-bank lenders to real estate investors, developers and investment advisors on the full lifecycle of commerical transactions from structuring through to execution and final divestment.

Ben has broad experience of all manner of lending and borrowing matters, including acquisitions, investment and development financings, refinancings, bridging facilities, restructurings and disposals. He has significant experience in multi-let commercial, student accommodation, hospitality and mixed-use transactions, often with a cross border element.

He also has specialised knowledge of Shari’ah compliant finance and has obtained the globally recognised Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment’s Islamic Finance Qualification.

Recent experience includes acting for a UK property investment group on the £125m refinance of a portfolio of 39 mixed-use properties involving a complex group multi-obligor structure; advising a UK aviation company on its £50m and $50m general corporate term loan and revolving credit facilities; representing three UK investor-housebuilder JVs on seperate cross collateralised c.£15m development facilities for the greenfield development of a new town in Southern England; and advising on the Shari'ah compliant financing of the corporate acquisition of a £42m 300-bed purpose-built student accommodation asset located in Greater London for a Bahrain based investment fund.
