Bill Jefferies


Bill heads up the firm's corporate practice in the UAE and regionally, following his arrival in Dubai at the start of 2013 from our Bahrain office. He spent over 7 years in Bahrain working mainly on regional and international M&A and cross-border private equity transactions including investment across the MENASA region and into the UK.  Prior to that, he was based in our London Corporate team.

During his time in the MENA region, Bill has led teams of lawyers working on numerous high-profile deals throughout the GCC, Europe and Southern Asia, particularly in the infrastructure, shipping, real estate, media, manufacturing and financial services sectors. He has been at the forefront of developing the firm's reputation for advising Middle Eastern clients on the execution, management and exit of high value, complex UK inward investments in the real estate and social infrastructure sectors, often on a Shari'ah compliant basis.

Bill advises clients on corporate structuring and restructuring matters, rationalisations, foreign direct investment (including structuring and set-ups), capital markets (fund-raisings and underwriting thereof), company law matters, joint ventures, commercial contracts (including agency/distribution, franchise and supply agreements) and pre-litigation strategy.

Since his arrival in Dubai, Bill has built an impressive track record and client base across a wide range of sectors including energy, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, travel and tourism, retail, food and food security, education, manufacturing, financial services, real restate and infrastructure. He is also heavily involved in on Saudi Arabia business. 

Praised by clients for his commercialism and ability to "get things done", Bill also performs the role of Honorary Legal Adviser to the UK Consul General in Dubai.
