James Hudson


James is an Associate in Trowers & Hamlins' Projects & Construction department and is based in our Exeter office.

He provides advice to a range of clients including developers, building owners, banks and lenders, schools, private individuals and contractors on all stages of the construction process. Since qualifying into the Projects & Construction department in 2023, James has acted for a wide range of clients both locally and nationally and has experience of working on some of the South-West team's hotel and leisure sector clients' projects.

James has transactional experience advising on supported-living modification works and has assisted with residential/commercial property projects across the south of England from Torbay to London. His work in London has varied from assisting with complex residential extensions to commercial office-fit out works in mixed-use developments.

His knowledge includes the drafting of building contracts, appointments, collateral warranties. He has a particular interest in, and has written articles regarding, the challenges facing construction projects in coastal areas as well as deleterious building materials (such as the ongoing RAAC saga).
