International law firm Trowers & Hamlins has advised M42 on its strategic outsourcing agreement with Global Medical Supply Chain (GMSC), a subsidiary of Mubadala Bio, relating to the management and operation of integrated medical supply chain services across M42’s healthcare platform.
The agreement forms part of wider efforts to strengthen healthcare supply chain resilience and operational efficiency within the UAE healthcare sector. Under the arrangement, GMSC will oversee a broad range of supply chain functions across M42’s healthcare network, including procurement, warehousing, logistics, inventory optimisation and distribution services for pharmaceuticals, consumables and medical equipment. The transaction supports M42’s continued focus on operational excellence, service continuity and scalable healthcare infrastructure, while also aligning with broader UAE initiatives around healthcare resilience and localisation.
Trowers’ International Corporate and Commercial team in Abu Dhabi advised on the transaction, led by Saleem Adam, with support from M42 client partner Stephen Sullivan, Senior Associate Ethan Chye and Associate Hannah Chima. The team worked closely with M42's General Counsel Hans Abrahamsson and Vice President Legal Luke Highfield.
Saleem Adam, Resident Managing Partner in Abu Dhabi, commented:
"We are delighted to have supported M42 on this strategically important transaction. The agreement reflects the increasing focus across the region on resilient, technology-enabled healthcare infrastructure and sophisticated outsourcing models capable of supporting large-scale healthcare operations."
M42 Client Partner Stephen Sullivan, added:
"M42 continues to play a leading role in shaping the future of healthcare in the UAE and the wider region. We are proud to support the business on strategic and transformative projects of this nature, and this transaction further demonstrates the strength of our relationship with the M42 team."
