Trowers & Hamlins has brought together its broad capabilities in the fast-growing sectors of Energy and Sustainability under the umbrella of a new practice group. The move will help the firm continue to deliver first-class client service in both key sectors, in which Trowers has recently invested and has long been regarded as a leading industry player.
The new Energy and Sustainability practice will be led by Chris Paul, Partner, who also heads up the firm's Sustainability Committee. He is joined by recent lateral hires, Partners Josh Partridge and Rhianna Wilsher, both of whom joined the firm last year. In total the practice will initially be 9-strong and will continue to advise clients across sectors on all energy and sustainability related matters.
Commenting on the move, Chris Paul said:
"The past few years have seen the energy and sustainability sector witness rapid growth and change. With the deadline of 2050 for transition to net zero, decarbonisation is high on the agenda for business. Establishing this new practice is a reflection of that and will help us continue to deliver for our clients as they face up to the challenges and opportunities.
"Energy systems are undergoing fundamental changes in the way we produce, use, and interact with energy. Investment into sustainable businesses, both in the UK and abroad, remains buoyant and new models and technologies are regularly coming to market. These are dynamic and exciting areas and it's right that Trowers is best positioned to help clients make the most of the emerging opportunities."
Trowers is highly regarded both for its energy and sustainability offering and its Responsible Business strategy. The practice has a focus on key technologies and developments for the energy transition including low-carbon heat networks, utility connections, renewables and battery storage, EV charge points and energy efficiency/decarbonisation projects – and has been particularly well received by clients.
