Trowers advises Banks Group's minority shareholders on the sale of their interest in the Banks Group's renewable energy business 


International law firm Trowers & Hamlins has advised the minority shareholders of Banks Renewables, the renewable energy division of multi-disciplinary company, Banks Group, to Brookfield, a leading global alternative asset manager. 

Established in 1976, the Banks Group is a family-run business located in County Durham, operating across a variety of sectors, including property, mining, transport and renewable energy. Banks Renewables works with landowners to take renewable and flexible energy projects including onshore wind, solar and battery storage projects from inception to completion. Its total portfolio comprises more than 4 GW spread across wind farms, solar, onshore wind and battery projects that have received planning permission, with a further pipeline of approximately 3.5GW planned.

The renewable energy subsidiaries being sold operate 11 onshore wind farms across the North of England and Scotland.
