Trowers advises Housing Solutions on significant portfolio purchase

International law firm Trowers & Hamlins has advised Housing Solutions on the acquisition of more than 450 new homes from One Housing Group.

Housing Solutions, a leading social housing provider in Berkshire and Buckinghamshire has taken ownership of 452 homes and 72 non-rental properties from One Housing Group across: Wokingham, Reading, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire.

The properties include a range of tenures from general needs to supported housing, with the transfer completing on 20 March following consultation with residents.

Trowers advised Housing Solutions on a full range of legal issues relating to the acquisition, including title due diligence, contract negotiation, exchange, completion and land registration.

Partner Jeremy Hunt, commented:

"We are thrilled to have been able to successfully advise Housing Solutions on this sizeable acquisition from One Housing Group. The purchase will enable Housing Solutions to expand its presence across the different regions and continue to provide much needed social housing."

Orla Gallagher, Chief Executive of Housing Solutions, added:

"The transfer of these homes is a great result for Housing Solutions and OHG residents. By increasing the concentration of properties we manage in our communities, we can focus more resources and exert greater influence locally to unlock further positive change for all our residents.

"OHG residents will now have access to our holistic range of local and community-based services, alongside our sector-leading digital platform. Together these are making sure we deliver responsive services that meet the individual needs of residents. Equally, we’re excited to get to know our new residents as people. We work hard to build relationships on the doorstep, so we can better understand each person’s circumstances and what is most important to them. And because we love a good chat."
