Webinar: Trowers Tuesday – Mental Health in the workplace

Ahead of World Mental Health Day on 10 October, at Trowers Tuesday this week we focused on mental health at work.

Emma Burrows, Imogen Reseigh and Sophie Miller took your questions.

Managing mental health remains a challenge for employers. A recent Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) report found that workplace absences are at a 10 year high and the main cause of long-term absence is mental ill health. No doubt the pandemic and cost of living pressures are a big factor. We discussed:

  • How to support employees with mental health challenges, both whilst in work and during sickness absence;
  • What obligations and duties an employer is under when it comes to wellbeing and mental health;
  • Disability discrimination risks you need to be aware of; and
  • Our tips for implementing a wellbeing strategy to promote good mental health.
