Some employers in the UK have announced plans to set up IT systems to track whether their employees have received the Covid-19 vaccine, creating a form of vaccine passport.

In addition, some companies have stated that they will dismiss or decline to hire anyone who refuses to take the vaccine. 

Workday, which provides payroll and human resources software to 1,300 companies in the UK has launched monitoring tools, as has BrightHR. BrightHR's system will provide e-learning courses for workers to dispel myths surrounding the vaccine, as well as a database for employers.

In the meantime a survey by HRLocker (of 750 executives) has revealed that 23% of employers are planning to mandate vaccinations for their staff, with 49% of executives admitting that they will prioritise vaccinated applicants during the recruitment process.  51% said that they would encourage their employees to have the vaccine by providing information, with 20% saying that they would subsidise the cost of vaccination and 15% hosting walk-in clinics.
