Top 40 law firm Trowers & Hamlins has advised Transport for London on its arrangements with Apartments for London to develop affordable homes over car parks and other sites owned by the transport authority.

The plans are part of TfL's overall strategy in helping to solve the housing crisis and also support the Mayor of London's strategy to build 50% of affordable homes on public land.

The firm provided all legal advice for TfL for the project alongside TfL's in-house team, TfL Legal, which included arrangements to allow for the ongoing use of the stations and retaining parking. Partner Julian Keith, who led the Trowers team in the project said:

"We are extremely passionate about working on this iconic project and extremely excited to see the positive impact it will make for the people of London. This multi-faceted project encompasses innovative real estate development, modern methods of construction and is a great example of the intensification of building on London's public land."
