International law firm Trowers & Hamlins has been named Best Advisory Services Firm at the CN & PW Life Sciences, Tech & Research Clusters Awards 2026.

The awards recognise the legal advisors, construction professionals, real estate advisers, investors and developers delivering transformational projects across the UK's life sciences, innovation and technology sectors.

Trowers received the award in recognition of its role advising the Ellison Institute of Technology (EIT) on its £890 million acquisition of the West Side of Oxford Science Park in Q4 2025. The acquisition supports a major expansion of EIT's Oxford campus and marks the next stage in its mission to bring world-leading science, technology and entrepreneurship together under one roof. The deal also represents a major milestone in EIT's plans to grow its Oxford presence to more than 2 million sq ft of laboratories, offices and collaborative spaces for research and education.

Tom Calnan, lead Partner for Trowers & Hamlins on the acquisition, commented:

"Winning Best Advisory Services Firm is a fantastic endorsement of the strength and depth of Trowers' life sciences capabilities and the collaborative approach we bring to supporting clients on complex, strategically important projects.

Our work with the Ellison Institute of Technology reflects the breadth of expertise across the firm as well as our ability to support major high value developments across the life sciences sector. The Oxford deal represents one of the most important and significant transactions ever undertaken in the UK's life sciences market and supports EIT's ambitious vision for the future of research and education, as it continues its mission to deliver scaled solutions to humanity's important problems.

We are proud to have worked with and alongside the EIT team on a project of this scale and ambition and to have contributed to the continued growth of Oxford Science Park as a leading centre for innovation."
