International law firm Trowers & Hamlins was named Professional Services Partner of the Year at the Building Innovation Awards 2025.
The Building Innovation Awards celebrate the most innovative products, services and technology reshaping the UK construction sector.
Trowers was recognised for its role in collaborating with the NEC and the Association of Consultant Architects on the integration of FAC-1 with the NEC4 suite.
Partner, Assad Maqbool, co-authored the NEC4 guidance on integrating the Framework Alliance Contract (FAC-1) and Term Alliance Contract (TAC-1) into the NEC4 suite. The new legal frameworks and guidance have helped clients streamline procurement and reduce administrative burdens across complex infrastructure programmes.
Assad Maqbool, Partner in the Projects and Construction team, commented:
"This award is a fantastic recognition of the market-leading advice we provide to clients as we support them in simplifying procurement and driving innovation across the construction sector. This work has helped embed collaborative contracting into mainstream practice, improving efficiency, contractor engagement, and delivery outcomes across the industry."
