International law firm Trowers & Hamlins will be taking part in this year's Student Career Compass event alongside a group of large UK organisations.
A group of UK employers have come together to create an immersive face to face and virtual event, to help students navigate the current uncertainty and make informed choices about their prospective careers.
Spanning a range of sectors from banking, tech and consultancy through to government, commercial real estate and policing, organisations participating in this year’s career event include BT Group, CBRE, the Civil Service, Deloitte, Meta, Metropolitan Police and NatWest Group.
The event gives students an immersive view of working in each sector, with organisations providing the kind of deep immersion that isn’t always available at traditional career fairs. The sessions provide insight into what graduate and apprenticeship schemes are available, how to make a strong application, what career trajectories look like, and you will get to hear recent graduates and apprentices talk through their journeys. There will also be a session hosted by successful entrepreneurs on what it takes to set up your own business.
The event is primarily aimed at students studying A Levels through to university undergraduates and those recently graduated. Students studying at GCSE level have attended previously and benefited from the early guidance and are again welcome to participate.
This year the career immersion event will be a face-face event taking place in London, but it will also be streamed using zoom, allowing those not able to travel to participate and ask questions. Those attending in person will benefit from more personal conversations with representatives from the participating organisations and also be able to take advantage of a CV clinic with industry experts on hand to critique their CVs or Personal Statements.
