Yetunde Dania, partner and head of law firm Trowers & Hamlins' Birmingham office, has received a special recognition award, honouring her achievements and for being an 'outstanding role model' at the Birmingham Black Lawyers Awards, which took place at their 10th anniversary ball at Edgbaston Cricket Club on the 25th September 2021.

Yetunde has worked at the firm for 10 years, she took over the role of head of office in 2020 and recently become an equity partner. She was commended for her continual support of others and being visible to inspire others in the profession and across the wider community.

Birmingham Black Lawyers is a platform for both aspiring lawyers and established legal professionals to develop their networks and secure work opportunities. Their aim is to increase the proportion of black and other ethnic minority students successfully entering the profession in all areas of law and to achieve greater representation in senior and Board-level positions.

Yetunde said:

"I am extremely honoured to receive this award. It is particularly poignant as we celebrate our 10 year anniversary in Birmingham, it's great to see how much we have grown, welcomed new talent to the firm and built long lasting relationship across the region. I would like to thank Birmingham Black Lawyers - who are also celebrating their 10th anniversary, as we look ahead with optimism as to what the next 10 years will hold. There is lots on the horizon, huge investment and exciting plans for Birmingham such as the Commonwealth games which will bring prosperity and provide opportunities for our diverse talent to shine and in turn will boost the local economy. I am extremely proud and happy to play my part."
