Trowers picked up the awards for HR Team of the Year (for firms of over 750 employees) as well as an individual award for Sue Brooks, who won the award for Best Individual Contribution. The People in Law Awards recognises the very best people achievements across the legal industry.

Trowers was also shortlisted for Best Organisational Response to Covid-19 and Excellence in Equality & Inclusion for which the firm was highly commended for its #7T&HBlackMen video project which was noted as being an 'innovative and brave way to start a conversation on racial diversity and inclusion'.

For the HR Team of the Year Award, the judges were particularly impressed by the firm's commitment to its People First Agenda and its 'creative and empathetic approach to keeping their staff employed, engaged and productive' throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. Sue Brooks was acknowledged for 'making an inspirational contribution' and having gone 'over and above to affect their colleagues’ wellbeing and livelihoods' during the difficult period of the last 12 months.

Director of Human Resources, Paul Robinson commented:

"We are delighted to have won HR Team of the Year at the People in Law Awards. I want to thank and congratulate the great team, who have worked so hard, but this is also an award for the whole firm and in particular the management team and partnership for consistently putting people and culture at the top of our agenda and making Trowers such a good place to work and be yourself.

"Congratulations must also go to Sue Brooks, who deservedly won the Best Individual Contribution Award for the outstanding and inspirational contribution she has made to the firm."

Head of Reward, Sue Brooks on her win:

"I'm thrilled to have won this award and would like to thank all my colleagues for their continuous support over the years. The spirit of our firm and how we work together to maintain a happy and healthy workplace has always been at the forefront of what we do, so I am extremely proud that I have been able to play a role in developing that ethos."
