How can we help you?

International law firm Trowers & Hamlins will be part of a group of large UK employers hosting an immersive digital event that aids students in making informed choices about their prospective career.

The digital event covers a multitude of sectors from law, banking, and medicine through to policing and tech. The organisations participating in Early Career Immersion Week 2020 include Facebook, BT, NatWest Group, Gate One, KPMG, the British Sikh Doctors Association, the Metropolitan Police and the UK Civil Service.

The Early Career Immersion Week is primarily aimed at BAME students and those from disadvantaged backgrounds and after the uncertainty caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, it is especially important that those from under-represented backgrounds have the opportunity to gain insight that will enable them to make informed decisions about their prospective career.

The event gives students an immersive experience of working in each sector, with organisations providing hour long sessions that provide students with deeper insight compared to what is offered at traditional career fairs. Each immersion group will also provide students with practical tips on how to make a strong application, what career trajectories look like as well as hearing from recent graduates who discuss their journeys.

Navinder Grover, partner and representative for Trowers on the scheme commented:

"We are proud to be involved with this essential scheme that provides opportunities to students from the BAME community. The Early Career Immersion Week will give those from under-represented backgrounds the chance to learn from some of the largest organisations in the UK and get a behind the scenes look at how they operate. As we all try to navigate these uncertain times, it is of the utmost importance that those from disadvantaged backgrounds have the access to opportunities and at Trowers we are committed to providing equal opportunity for all."
