Trowers & Hamlins advises Legal & General on the establishment of affordable housing provider
International law firm Trowers & Hamlins has advised Legal & General on the successful registration of Legal & General Affordable Homes with the Regulator of Social Housing.
As well as advising on the regulatory aspects of the new provider, the firm has been advising Legal & General on the operational set up of their Affordable Homes division.
Legal & General plans for the new company to be a leading private affordable housing provider in the UK, using equity funding to deliver 3,000 homes per year within the next four years.
The Trowers & Hamlins team was led by Partner, Rob Beiley who commented:
"We are delighted to have worked with the team at Legal & General on this important initiative, which will materially increase the supply of affordable housing in the UK at a time of a critical shortage. Legal & General's investment in the sector is evidence of increasing investor confidence in direct equity investment in affordable housing; a trend we expect to see continuing in the coming years."
