The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has published its proposed increases to several statutory benefit payments. The increased rates will apply from 10 April 2023.
The weekly rate of statutory sick pay (SSP) will rise from £99.35 to £109.40. The weekly rate of statutory maternity pay (SMP), maternity allowance, statutory paternity pay (SPP), statutory shared parental pay (ShPP), statutory adoption pay (SAP) and statutory parental bereavement pay (SPBP) will rise from £156.66 to £172.48.
The new rates represent an increase of 10.1% on the rates applicable for 2022/2023.
