Salary / Benefits

As a trainee, you will receive a competitive salary and benefits package, which includes five weeks' annual leave each year. Salaries are reviewed annually and reflect the increased cost of living in London. They are currently set at:

  • 1st year trainee - £45,000 in London and £31,000 in Birmingham, Manchester and Exeter
  • 2nd year trainee - £49,000 in London and £33,000 in Birmingham, Manchester and Exeter
  • Newly qualified - £80,000 in London and £60,000 in Birmingham, Manchester and Exeter

We also offer a range of benefits including a pension scheme, an interest-free season ticket loan and private medical insurance.

Sponsorship 

We offer a comprehensive sponsorship package to all trainees. Should you be recruited by us and still need to undertake the GDL and / or LPC, we will pay your course fees and provide you with a maintenance grant of £6,500 per annum increasing to £7,000 per annum if you are studying in London. We require all future trainees that still need to undertake the GDL and / or the LPC to study them at the University of Law, with LPC students studying the MSc in Law, Business and Management.

Once we introduce the SQE in 2024 we will sponsor future trainees to complete a preparation course. If you are a non-law student, we will also sponsor you to complete a PGDL (Post Diploma in Law) before starting your SQE prep course.
