Trowers advises on landmark Murabaha term financing for One Silk Street
Trowers & Hamlins advised the customer on a commodity Murabaha-based refinancing of One Silk Street, a prominent commercial property in the City of London.

Nicol is the first home-grown Malaysian partner in our Malaysia office, having been with the firm since 2017. Her banking and finance experience includes acting for domestic and international banks, financial institutions and companies in a range of local and cross-border deals. In particular, Nicol leads syndicated corporate and asset finance transactions, acquisition financing, and property financing. Many of these deals are Shari'ah compliant or a mix of conventional and Shari'ah compliant financing. Nicol is consistently recognised for her work by the legal community and was named in the Asian Legal Business (ALB) Asia's 40 Under 40 in 2023.

Singapore and Malaysia have inked the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone Agreement
7 January 2025 marks a significant milestone in Malaysia-Singapore relations as the two nations exchanged an agreement to establish a special economic zone in the southern Malaysian state of Johor (JS-SEZ) during the 11th Malaysia-Singapore Leaders’ Retreat hosted by Malaysian Prime Minister Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim. JS-SEZ is the first special economic zone spanning Southeast Asia’s borders.
