Saptarshi Chatterjee


Saptarshi is a Senior Associate in the Trowers & Hamlins International Banking and Finance team.

Saptarshi is a dual qualified lawyer in England & Wales (Solicitor) and India (Advocate) with over 10 years of work experience. He supports the firm's International Banking and Finance practice across the GCC member countries. Presently, he is acting for various banks, financial institutions, and issue managers in the GCC such as Bank Muscat SAOG, Oman Arab Bank SAOG, and First Abu Dhabi Bank PJSC.

Prior to joining Trowers, Saptarshi was part of a pre-eminent Indian law firm. In India he regularly acted as both lenders’ and borrowers’ legal counsel on project financing transactions especially in the renewable energy sector. Additionally, he has extensive experience in advising resolution professionals, liquidators, creditor committees, resolution applicants and other key stakeholders in both contentious and non-contentious insolvency matters. He also has considerable experience in advising multilateral development financial institutions and sovereign governments in implementing and undertaking disinvestments of state-owned enterprises.
