How can we help you?

International law firm Trowers & Hamlins has continued the growth of its Singapore and Asia business with the appointments of senior corporate lawyers Saravanan Rathakrishnan and Dato' Kunal Chahl.

Saravanan specialises in investment funds, family office structuring, and private equity transactions, with experience advising ultra-high-net-worth individuals across multiple jurisdictions. He regularly advises fund managers on the structuring, offering, and regulatory compliance of collective investment schemes, with a particular focus on Singapore VCC platforms and cross-jurisdictional fund arrangements.

Dato' Kunal brings extensive experience across corporate and M&A, private equity, private credit and venture capital transactions throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Having worked both in private practice and in-house, he was most recently General Counsel at a Singapore-licensed asset and wealth management firm and in that position he helped to establish several funds and then oversee their operation. As a Singaporean who is Malaysia-qualified, his arrival further strengthens the firm's combined Singapore and Malaysia team.

Abdulhaq Mohammed, Head of Asia and Singapore Managing Partner, commented:

"We are delighted to have both Saravanan and Kunal join our team. The world of family offices and private capital are strategic priorities for us. Singapore's position as a hub for private capital and investment structuring is only getting stronger, and both appointments align strongly with the evolving needs of our clients in the region. Saravanan's specialist funds experience and Kunal's unique combination of in-house and private practice expertise in these areas, coupled with our existing track record for fund indirect investment work for Asian clients, as well as cross-border expertise in fund structuring in the GCC and in key offshore markets, gives us a compelling offering."
