Yetunde Dania, Partner and Head of Birmingham at international law firm Trowers & Hamlins, has been awarded 'Moment of the Year' at the City Century Awards.
City Century is a solicitor apprenticeship initiative that helps to develop the best talent on their legal career journey. The Awards shine a spotlight on the individuals and organizations who are driving this meaningful change and fostering diversity within the legal profession.
For her Moment of the Year, the judges commended Yetunde's inspirational keynote that opened the City Century Live! Birmingham event, which was attended by 200 budding solicitor apprentices.
The judges highlighted 'how this moment not only inspired those present on the day, but rippled out across the profession, reinforcing the value of apprenticeships and showing the energy and credibility of the movement.'
The panel went on to say: 'This speech did more than celebrate progress, it challenged the profession to think bigger and bolder about the role of apprenticeships. It crystallised what City Century stands for: determination, authenticity, achievability and impact.'
Yetunde was also presented with a Highly Commended award for Senior Law Firm Champion of the Year.
Yetunde commented:
"I am beyond excited to receive this recognition. I am passionate about doing all I can to inspire people from under-represented communities or parts of society who are trying to carve out a career in law. It's an important part of our Responsible Business strategy at Trowers to increase diversity and promote alternative pathways into the legal profession."
