Trowers & Hamlins is pleased to announce that Elias Moubarak, a Partner in its Banking and Finance team, has joined the firm's Abu Dhabi office, enhancing its on-the-ground capability in the UAE. Elias’ return to the Emirates reflects the firm’s strategic focus on delivering senior, locally based banking and finance expertise to clients across the UAE and wider Middle East.
Elias brings over 16 years of experience advising the full spectrum of stakeholders on structured, corporate, real estate and infrastructure financings across the UK, Middle East and emerging markets. Elias is also a recognised figure in the Islamic finance industry, where he advises clients on a wide range of matters, including project and real estate financings as well as debt capital market issuances.
Elias has been at Trowers for over eleven years and was previously based in the firm's Dubai office before relocating to Malaysia in 2019, where he led the firm's Banking and Finance offering across South East Asia. His return to the UAE strengthens the firm's cross-border offering and positions him to support capital flows across the Middle East and ASEAN regions, as well as investments and financings into the UK.
This strategic move forms part of the firm's commitment to achieve further growth across the UAE, deepen its local presence and enhance its reputation across the Banking and Finance sector.
Elias commented:
"Returning to the UAE feels both like coming home and stepping into an exciting new chapter. The Middle East's dynamic debt finance landscape continues to evolve at pace and is setting benchmarks for innovation and growth in the financial sector, particularly Islamic finance. I look forward to supporting clients navigating increasingly complex domestic and cross-border transactions."
Jeremy Ingham, Head of International at Trowers & Hamlins, added:
"Elias's relocation reflects our ongoing investment in our Banking and Finance practice as an integral part of our international growth strategy. His experience working with a diverse portfolio of clients across multiple locations will be instrumental in supporting clients with interests spanning the GCC and ASEAN regions and beyond."
