Trowers & Hamlins strengthens Bahrain team with new recruit

International law firm Trowers & Hamlins has recruited senior associate Unkar Chanian to its market-leading Bahrain real estate team.

Unkar is a UK qualified solicitor and joins from Al Tamimi & Co, where he was their most senior real estate lawyer in Bahrain. He worked for many years in the City of London before relocating to Bahrain in 2014.

Unkar has a wealth of both international and regional experience advising on commercial property, large scale mixed use development and landlord and tenant matters. He has also been involved in a number of aspects of the new real estate regulatory regime in Bahrain, as well as advising private individuals on their property dealings.

Abdul-Haq Mohammed, the head of Trowers & Hamlins' international business said:

"We are delighted to welcome Unkar to the team. Unkar has a well deserved reputation in the market and his recruitment bolsters our position as leaders in Bahrain's real estate sector. I am confident that the experience he has gained while working in Bahrain over recent years will further enhance our offering to our clients as they navigate changing times."

Unkar added:

"I am looking forward to working with the team in Bahrain. The landscape for real estate is going through considerable development and I will be using my sector experience to ensure that our clients are fully equipped to take advantage of new opportunities."
