How can we help you?

In our latest webinar on sector risk with the Regulator of Social Housing along with other sector experts, we explored the evolving landscape of challenges and opportunities facing registered providers.

With continued increased risks to viability, there was less 'margin for error' in decision making in an environment where there were increasingly difficult decisions to be made by organisations. What were the Regulator's thoughts on the most significant risks? What were the trade-offs that needed to be considered? How was financial resilience maintained with competing demands on resources? How did executive teams and boards navigate their organisations through these multivariate risks?

Providers continued to operate in increasing complexity, with new and different ways of doing things having become the norm. It was important that organisations continually considered options for achieving their objectives, through things such as merger, strategic partnerships, alternative funding models, and were, at the very least, alive to what options were out there.

This session provided a fantastic opportunity to consider the above (and more).
In this session attendees:

  • heard from Will Perry, Director of Strategy at the Regulator of Social Housing, whose team was responsible for producing the RSH's Sector Risk Profile;
  • heard from Nicola Ewan at SettleParadigm, Orla Gallagher at Housing Solutions and Shaun Holdcroft at L&G Affordable Homes about how they responded to risks and the challenges that operating in the current environment presented;
  • heard insights into regulatory expectations and strategic responses;
  • heard from those operating in the sector about how they responded to risks and the challenges that operating in the current environment presented;
  • heard how some providers structured their activities in newer ways to achieve their objectives;
  • heard insights on the roles played by boards, committees and senior leadership teams in managing those risks; and participated in a Q&A with sector experts.

This session was aimed at senior executives, board members and chairs of committees of Private RPs (both non-profit and for-profit) and LA RPs.
