A new version of the "How to Rent" Guide was released on 2 October 2023. This needs to be given to a tenant on all new and replacement tenancies, including statutory periodic tenancies arising from 2 October 2023.
This means that a physical copy must be given to a tenant unless the tenant has expressly agreed to it being sent by email. Simply sending a link to a tenant to the gov.uk website, is not sufficient.
Remember that a Section 21 Notice cannot be served until the How to Rent Guide has been given.
