How can we help you?

Welcome to the June edition of Local Government Matters newsletter.

As part of our recent local government governance activities a number of members of the local government team have provided their thoughts on the 7 characteristics of governance, reflected in the Centre for Governance and Scrutiny's risk and resilience framework. These are recorded in 7 different podcasts and there are some great insights. We are particularly pleased that Max Caller, the lead inspector for the recent Best Value Inspection of Liverpool City Council took the time to speak with Helen Randall about political awareness. It’s a great conversation.

Also in this edition are a slew of interesting insights on the plethora (well there have been 6 this year!) of PPNs for anyone interested in procurement issues, with the National Procurement Policy Statement being potentially seismic in its application to all Contracting Authorities. We also have a very thought provoking article about the future of work and the latest in our Bridging the Divide series where Barry Scarr shares his lessons learned from the reorganisation in Northamptonshire.
