It was by far the most positive interview experience I've had. I felt the firm respected me and my experience

Why did you decide to join Trowers & Hamlins?

At interview, I was struck by the range of things I would be doing here. And although I've only been in the team for about ten months, I've already got involved in housing finance, Islamic finance, hotel developments and private equity deals.

On top of that, it was by far the most positive interview experience I've ever had. They were friendly, interested in my experience and knowledgeable about what I did. I felt that they respected me and my experience.

What's different about the firm?

People here are uniformly helpful and very bright. Just as in the interview process, they've been very supportive.

If you hadn't become a lawyer, what would you have become?

I'd love to cook in my own restaurant. A neighbourhood place where the locals would go regularly.

Tell us about a really exciting project you've worked on

Even though I've only been here ten months, I've completed Islamic financing deals in development finance. They're innovative, new deals - but I'm trusted to take responsibility for them and work on them on my own.

What has been your favourite day at Trowers & Hamlins?

I love closing deals - the frantic pace you work at to get things done. So days when deals go through are good days. I also really like it when clients are appreciative. Like the time when a client sent me a £50 Selfridges voucher - and said he couldn't have managed without me.

What three words would you use to describe Trowers & Hamlins?

Varied. (There's a real mix of work.) Bright. (The friendly, whizzy, on the ball people.) Inclusive. (You don't have to be a cardboard-cut-out to work here.)

What three words or phrases would you use to describe yourself?

Hard worker. Bright. Accurate.

What are you most passionate about at work?

I like things to be right. I love to chase things down. And I strive to have a strong commercial focus.
