As much as there is a need for solid academics and ability there is also a recognition that we are all individuals with different strengths and it is these strengths that Trowers nurtures

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

As I work on major infrastructure projects, there is often a working facility such as a school, hospital or leisure centre that is the outcome of my efforts.  It is rewarding to see these facilities being used and seeing the real impact these facilities have on the life experiences of local residents.  It is gratifying to know that all those hours spent pouring over legal documents results in something beneficial to so many people!

Who do you meet and work with on a regular basis?

I work with a range of clients from local authorities, large private sector organisations, charities and banks.  All my clients have differing commercial requirements so I have to understand these requirements in order to provide the level of legal support they require.

What do you like most about your job?

There are a combination of things that I enjoy ranging from the people I work with to the high quality of work that I do.  I am lucky to have established good working relationships with my clients and therefore enjoy the autonomy that is given to me to work with these clients and the senior support I have when it comes to marketing the team's expertise.

What sets Trowers & Hamlins apart for you?

I enjoy Trowers due to its collegiate feel and perspective.  I feel valued and as though my opinion counts.  There is no typical mould that you have to fit into at Trowers which is great.  As much as there is a need for solid academics and ability there is also a recognition that we are all individuals with different strengths and it is these strengths that Trowers nurtures.

Tell us about what you have been working on recently.

I have recently completed a 1 billion pound transaction establishing a joint venture company between the public and private sector to address a range of issues including social cohesion.  My passion rests with education work and therefore I am involved in the firm's Building Schools for the Future initiative.  The BSF programme is the largest investment in the country's secondary schools estate in a generation.  I am fortunate to be working on a number of BSF projects around the country and I am finding the whole experience particularly rewarding.
