Renters’ Rights Act 2025
The landmark Renters' Rights Bill became law after receiving Royal Assent at the end of October. The timescale and regulatory details are awaited. The new Act has been hailed, by Government, as "historic" and is a major milestone for England's 11 million private renters.

The Data (Use and Access) Act 2025
The Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 received Royal Assent in June. It is a wide-ranging Act that includes provisions designed to enable the growth of digital verification services and new smart data schemes. It also includes important changes to the UK’s data protection and privacy legislation.

Employment Rights Bill
The Employment Rights Act is a landmark piece of legislation that was introduced to Parliament in October 2024 and received Royal Assent on 18 December 2025. It introduces substantial new obligations for employers and strengthens protections for workers across a number of areas. The various provisions in the Act will be coming into force during the course of 2026 and 2027. The detail of many of the measures in the Act remains to be determined and extensive consultations will be taking place during 2026 before secondary legislation is introduced to implement the obligations contained in the Act. The bill is nearing the end of its journey through Parliament and Royal Assent should be granted soon.

The much anticipated decision of the Supreme Court in Providence Building Services Limited v Hexagon Housing Association Limited will be an extremely important decision for construction employers and contractors. The hearing before the Supreme Court took place on 10 November 2025. We will report on the Supreme Court's decision once judgment is handed down.
