How can we help you?

Our most recent Commercial Litigation webinar with Edward Rees, Laura Pennells and Michael Rhode.

In this webinar (scroll to the bottom for video) we take a look at new and emerging themes in litigation including:

  • Test and trace: what will you do with all of that data?

Edward Rees considered the latest data protection issues for businesses to take into account in respect of COVID, contact tracing and how organisations are dealing with an exponential increase in the collection and storage of customer data.

  • COVID-19 Business Interruption Insurance

Laura Pennells looked into the key issues for businesses arising from the High Court's judgment in the Financial Conduct Authority test case on business interruption insurance.  Pending an appeal to the Supreme Court, this is a useful snapshot of the High Court's views on issues of principle relating to the coverage offered by specimen policy wordings.

  • The review of judicial review: Call for Evidence

Michael Rhode considered the Independent Review of Administrative Law's Call for Evidence on judicial review – how well does judicial review balance the legitimate interest of citizens to challenge public bodies against the role of those bodies in carrying on the business of government?  We looked at some of the potential issues arising as a result of the review and the impact any changes to judicial review might have on the public's right to challenge the lawfulness of public body decision making.
