Housing PFI is one of the three options available to enable local authorities to meet the Decent Homes standard. It is also, however, a method for financing the re-provisioning of existing local authority sites in need of demolition and regeneration and for financing new build affordable housing on a performance payment basis rather than through social housing grant.

We can bring to bear our unprecedented expertise within the housing and local government sector together with our considerable experience of housing PFI (having acted on about half of all completed housing PFIs) to provide an all-encompassing package of services to our clients, including advice on the following areas:

  • structuring and risk allocation,
  • project financing,
  • tax exposure,
  • implications for charitable project vehicles or subcontractors, and
  • drafting and negotiation of project documentation.

We have acted for local authorities, project vehicles and sub-contractors on these specialist PFIs and have continued to add value and assist on projects following financial close, through the provision of bespoke user-friendly operational manuals and training sessions.
