Nuclear Power

We have experience in advising on nuclear power projects in the UK and internationally.

We understand the complexities of these transactions - including the regulatory background, planning requirements, the procurement and construction approach, the connected government support arrangements and long-term decommissioning liabilities.

We have advised clients on new nuclear projects in the UK market. This experience gives us a strong understanding of the complexities of the CfD regime and wider state aid issues. We also understand the construction challenges, the operational requirements and liabilities relating to decommissioning and waste transfer.

In the international context, we have advised on a variety of large scale power projects including one of the first nuclear projects to be put to tender in the Middle East region. This includes advice on the negotiation of project documentation and detailed consideration of nuclear liability issues both under local and international law. We are well placed to assist clients who are new to the nuclear market, combining our understanding of the challenges of the nuclear market with our understanding of the local context.
