New businesses and start ups

New businesses need crisp, clear, commercial advice from their lawyers.  We relish acting for entrepreneurs and their funders to turn great new business ideas into great new businesses.

We know that start-ups, even if backed by established stakeholders, need advice that addresses, as a priority, the matters that are required to get the venture 'up and running' as soon as possible. Trowers start-up team of specialists give unstuffy, commercial advice with clear recommendations supported by options and pragmatic risk analysis based on our experience of what makes our clients' businesses succeed.

We act for a range of businesses at various stages of their corporate lifecycles: start up, growth, mature and exit. Such businesses have been established by new and established entrepreneurs or as a result of corporate venturing by existing mature businesses. One of our partners, Riccardo Abbate, has previously researched and lectured on start-up experiences of corporate venturing.

Our advice is focussed on addressing the interests and concerns of the various parties needed to set up a successful business, which include: the entrepreneur; the stakeholders and investors; the lender(s);the venture company.

We also advise on the written agreements required between such parties. We advise on the operational aspects of the venture, including in relation to: the protection and commercialisation of brands and other intellectual property of the venture; contracts of employment, contracts of sale, tax, company law.
