Our IT and IP teams advise many of our clients on a diverse range of technology and intellectual property related matters.

Our IT team advises on the contracts relating to the design, implementation and operation of a range of IT related software and hardware, including on large organisation-wide IT systems, national and other commercial databases and networks. Our IT team also advises in relation to IT related services (commonly in the context of outsourcing arrangements) and the use of the Internet, including in relation to websites, e-trading and domain name matters.

Our IT team also advises on all aspects of law relating to data protection and the freedom of information.

Our IP team advises on the legal issues relating to the protection and commercial exploitation of intellectual property that is created, developed, acquired or sold by our clients. Such advice typically relates to the use of copyright materials, trade marks, designs and patents.

We also advise our clients where it is necessary to enforce our clients' rights by way of legal proceedings.

We act for inventors, developers, sellers and users of IT and IP. In all cases, we pride ourselves on delivering 'business sense' coupled with our technical expertise so that our clients are helped to identify and obtain all the 'must haves' from their IT and IP related matters to protect reasonably all their material commercial interests.

We have experience in drafting and negotiating a range of IT and IP contracts of various values, including in excess of £150 million.
