Procurement and construction update seminars

Withdrawal from the European Union is almost upon us and the economic and political landscape remains uncertain - with predictions including falling business investment, reduced availability of EU labour and declining construction activity (with some exceptions). Against this backdrop it is important to remain on top of recent case law decisions and other developments.

In our procurement update we will look at updated UK case law on development agreements including the first declaration of ineffectiveness in England and judicial comment on the use of transparency notices, further cases about lifting (or not) the automatic suspension on finalising contract awards, cases involving concessions and about the conduct of procurement exercises, together with important decisions from the European Court of Justice and recent UK government consultations and PPN's.

In the construction sector the courts have been no less active and we have seen a mix of cases including on contract formation and limitations on liability, liquidated damages, a definitive view about the effect of failure to serve a payment notice or a pay less notice and cases on collateral warranty wording , risk allocation for ground conditions and personal liability for company contracts.

Our procurement and construction seminars in January 2019 will help you understand the key lessons to be learnt - and to be applied - from these decisions.

Event details

Registration and breakfast will begin at 8:30am with the seminar running from 9:00am until 10:30am.

These seminars will take our usual popular format with expert speakers plus plenty of opportunity for interaction and networking over coffee.
